Clyde Duncan Golden
July 31, 1957 - December 19, 2017

Born in the LA area, Clyde Duncan Golden quickly adapted to his Humboldt roots when he moved here in the mid-‘60s. With his quick wit, sweet smile and charming ways, Clyde easily made lifelong friends wherever he went. He expressed his love of art through his intricate wood carvings and showed his eye for details in his glass-blowing skills. His big personality even earned him a role in Eureka High School’s Production of “Guys and Dolls.”

After graduating Eureka High, Clyde became a long time employee of Mission Linen and eventually earned the capital to open his own business, Golden Touch Lawn Care. A great lover of the outdoors, Clyde often visited Swimmer’s Delight with his friends and family, becoming a welcomed local legend. When Clyde was camping, the good times were rolling. In fact, a special thank you to Park Ranger Pat who is dedicating the planting of a tree at Swimmers Delight in Clyde’s honor.

Later in life, Clyde’s warmth and generosity helped many people not only survive, but thrive. Through his many acts of kindness, Clyde built an enormous extended family which he loved to spoil with trips to the Casino and his hand-made gifts of crafted candles, wood workings, glass sculptures and many other beautiful, funny and sentimental pieces.

Clyde Duncan Golden, 60, went to be with The Lord holding both his daughter’s hands on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 in Redding following an illness.

He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his two daughters, Kristina Ann and Sarah Rose; granddaughters Lacie Rose and Natalie Michelle; and Janet, Linda & Stan, Connie, Angie, Heather Lynn, Vivian & Mike, Lisa-Lee & Don, Nicole & Jessica Jean, Emilee, Wyatt, Kayden, Paul, Evin, Nancy and many others.

We love you, Papa, and find peace knowing that are a man of God and will not be in Heaven alone. Please give our love to your predecessors — Diane and David, Rick and Dean and most of all to Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Bill.

There will be a graveside ceremony Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 2 p.m. at Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka, with a reception to follow at the Wharfinger Building on the bay (located at 1 Marina Way, Eureka) from 3:30 to 7 p.m. We invite all friends and family to join us to eat, drink and share in the memories.
