Clyde Oldham Obituary

Clyde J. Oldham, born on March 31, 1930 in Kelso, Washington, passed away in Eureka on October 27, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Jessie Oldham of Eureka and his sisters, Imogene Leu and Marie Lund, both of Oregon. Clyde is survived by his brother Ray Oldham (Marilyn) of Eureka, his nieces Cindy Miller of Eureka and Debbie Oldham-Auker of San Jose, his nephew Randy Lund of Oregon and several other nieces and nephews, including great and great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his good friend, Tim Schneider-Reuter of Eureka.

Clyde moved to Eureka in 1948, with his parents. He worked for Simpson Plywood, both in Eureka and Fairhaven, for about 38 years as a Dryer Tender, until his retirement. Clyde could often be seen walking all over Eureka, from Old Town to Myrtle Avenue to Henderson Center and around The Bayshore Mall. Clyde was a collector of many things. He began collecting coins when he was about ten years old and continued to do so throughout his life. He also enjoyed collecting Zippo lighters, die-cast airplanes and had a small collection of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. Clyde enjoyed watching NASCAR races as he was a Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan, much to the chagrin of his family. He also enjoyed watching the 49ers and the San Francisco Giants.

Clyde will be missed by all who knew him.
