JoyDel Nielson Oliveira

It is with a heavy heart that the family, friends, and neighbors of JoyDel Oliveira announce her peaceful passing on Friday, February 16, 2018 due to natural causes. JoyDel was born on December 7th, 1944 in Arcata, California. She attended local schools and graduated from Eureka High School.

In 1977 JoyDel married Clarence Oliveira where they have remained in love and the best of friends during the past 40 years. In addition to her time that she loved working at Hallmark, Joy also loved nature and the hunt for good antiques. She especially loved cooking and baking for family and friends. Her joy was giving to others.

Joy was predeceased by her parents, Delmar & Ethel Nielson and her grandparents, Eva & Fritz Hieber (very much her second parents) and brother in law, Harold Oliveira.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Oliveira and her brothers and sisters in laws; John & Vivian Oliveira; Fred & Raemel Oliveira; Joann Oliveira and numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Hospice of Humboldt or your favorite charity . A very special thank you to all the staff at Brookdale of Fortuna for showing JoyDel excellent care, compassion, laughter and love.

Graveside service will be at Ocean View Cemetery on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
