Ronald White Obituary

RONALD CLIFTON WHITE Ronnie White went to heaven on Sunday, October 7th. He was 75. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him but surely happy in his new home.

Born in Scotia, California, on June 2, 1943, Ronnie was a life long resident of Humboldt County. He was educated at St. Bernard's. He went on to become one of the finest auto body technicians in the area for decades. No wrecked car was too far gone, and every paint job showed the pride of a master craftsman.

Everyone who knew Ronnie considered him a good man. He was quiet, spending much of his time in his beloved garage or watching the waves at the North Jetty. But, the truth is, he was just waiting for a conversation to break out. He was smart, and he was also wise. He loved the news, with hot morning coffee, and sharing a comic strip or a good joke. He loved a well-struck golf ball. And he loved to laugh. No one who ever heard his irresistible chuckle could help but be drawn into the goodness of it. Ronnie could fix anything. And he did.

For just about anyone who knew him or a stranger. He gave selflessly to his family, friends, and acquaintances. Ronnie loved his wife of 53 years, Debbie White. He loved her cooking ("foooood") and smiled endlessly at the way she was in continual motion, perpetually hosting an entire neighborhood of children. He loved his two girls, Jill Schwake and Lindsay White. And he loved "the boy," his son, Keith White. His family meant everything to him, including his daughter's partners, Brad Schwake and Lance Rivas. He loved his brother, Daryl, sisters Darla and Janet, Janet's husband Kenny, nephew Greg, grandchildren, Jarred and wife Elisa, Blaine, Landon, and Oliver and great grandchildren Owen and Collin.

An open house at the family home is scheduled this Saturday from 10:00-4:00, to include a memoriam beginning at 10:30. Attendees are encouraged to bring a written memory or a photo.
