Edward Lodewijk Van Halen

January 26, 1955 ~ October 6, 2020 (age 65)

Legendary Guitarist Edward Van Halen has passed away at the age of 65 after a long battle with cancer.

Eddie Van Halen was a founding member and lead guitarist to the band Van Halen. His dedication and passion to his music and band was life long and a familial bond.

Eddie is survived by his wife Janie and his son Wolfgang and brother Alex. Both Alex and Wolfgang were members of their band by their namesake. After his passing, his son Wolfgang wrote this message to his father via Twitter, "He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I’ve shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop."

Van Halen and Eddie's legacy has deeply impacted many people, their induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 solidified their meaningfulness to fans, locally and internationally.
