Erroll Daniel Rhoades aka “E-Money Rhoades” blessed this world as the firstborn son to the late Apryl LaVonne McKinnon and Arthur “Danny” Daniel Rhoades, Jr. on April 11th, 1991 in Eureka, California, Humboldt County. He began his journey back to them on June 8th, 2023. He is the Grandchild of Pamela Risling of Hoopa and the late Rodney “Rocky” McKinnon, Sr. of Hoopa (maternal) and Linda Smith Rhoades of Hoopa and Arthur Rhoades, Sr. of Pitt River (paternal). He is the great-grandchild of the late Barbara Marshall Risling and Anthony Risling, Sr of Hoopa, who cherished him dearly. Also, a great Grandchild of the late Dorothy and Hoyt Smith of Hoopa and the great Grandchild of the late Neil McKinnon, Sr. of Klamath and Germaine “Winona” Smith of Somes Bar.
Erroll was a proud Hoopa Tribal Member who lived and resided up and down the river for the majority of his life but always came back to his home up Hostler Creek close to where his traditional village of Takamildin was. He was also a descendant of the Karuk and Yurok tribes from the Morek and SuWarhum Villages.
He graduated from Captain John High School and attended College of the Redwoods. He had numerous achievements, training, and certifications in Fire Fighting, control burning, forest management, Disaster Relief, Carpentry, plumbing, and Community Service which he was most proud of. He loved traveling the country Managing Crews for FEMA disaster relief and community clean up and doing beautification projects in communities in need. He most recently had a lawn care service and was in the process of getting a Small Business started. He had friends from all over the country and many will say he was their Brother.
Erroll was famous for his infectious smile and laugh, he made everyone feel like family and treated them that way, he was always there to lend a helping hand and assist/care for elders. He was the Grandma’s Baby Boy, beloved Brother, Nephew, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. His Aunts Erryn, Heather, and Nora also all claimed him as theirs. He had so much love to give. He was a very talented artist, you would see his art everywhere he went whether it was on paper or a surface or on someone’s skin and he was good at anything he did. Some of which was of course drawing, tattoo art, and carving elk horns. He even did comedy/acting/film production, art, sewing, and welding in High School. He loved being an Uncle who had a very special bond with his Nieces Apryl LaVonne and Tori Rae and Nephew Edward. He loved babies and children, he was a very loved Uncle to many, including little cousins and friends. He loved music and many forms of art. He was an old soul native having knowledge of the local plants and how to gather and use them. He participated in ceremonies and carried the knowledge of making regalia. He enjoyed traditional things like injun card gambling, assisting with making the fish weir, weaving eel baskets, making nets, hunting, eeling, and fishing, and was the best homie. Even though Erroll had experienced many tragedies and hardships in life he still managed to always be smiling, laughing, and having a good time. This world is going to be a dimmer place without him.
