Jean Lorenzetti Obituary

Jean Harper Lorenzetti died peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 9, 2021, after a short illness.

Jean is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roger; her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie & Rick Pasdera and granddaughter, Nicole Pasdera; her son and daughter-in-law, Greg & Christine Lorenzetti; her son and daughter-in-law, Brad & Heidi Lorenzetti and grandchildren, Josh Lorenzetti and Jessica Lorenzetti; her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie & Brad Stearns, grandchildren Ryan Stearns, Sara Stearns, Kayla Stearns and great-grandchildren, Deslynn & Sienna DeGraff. Jean is also survived by her brother, Tom Harper and wife Linda and family; her sister, Diane Moriarity and husband John and family; as well as brother-in-law, Delmar and wife Carolyn and family; and sister-in-law, Sharon Lorenzetti and family.

Jean was born in West Hartlepool, England in 1934, to Tom and Lydia Harper. When Jean was three and a half, she lost her mother. During World War II, Jean and her brother Tom survived the firebombing on the northeast coast of England while their father worked with the Royal Air Force. Jean emigrated to Phoenix, Arizona with her father and brother in 1947 and eventually moved to Scotia, California.

Jean married Roger Lorenzetti in 1956 and raised their four children in Fortuna, California where she was very involved in her childrens' many activities and sports teams. Jean and Roger then retired in Eureka, California.

Jean's greatest happiness came from her family: Roger, her husband of 64 years, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jean was most joyful during noisy holidays and family gatherings. She was a gentle, thoughtful woman whose quick wit, integrity, and ability to look for the positive in every situation will be dearly missed.

In accordance with her wishes, Jean's funeral service will be private and family-only.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating in Jean's name to Hospice of Humboldt.
